Our Policy
The First Ohio Vietnam Reenactors are dedicated to providing an immersive experience for all of our members, which means we strive to be accurate in our impressions. With that being said, we also seek to be welcoming towards new members and those new to the hobby. As such, we are lenient in our accuracy guidelines, especially towards new members.
We offer resources to help new members decide on an impression, find the right gear, and utilize their gear correctly. We do not wish to exclude anyone that might be starting out or unable to acquire all of the necessary gear as fast as they would like.
Required Uniforms
We do not require any one type of uniform, but rather ask that our members ensure to do proper research into the uniform of the unit they wish to portray. At ceremonial events where uniformity is preferred, such as in a parade for instance, we ask that all of our members who own USGI green fatigues wear those as opposed to ERDL, Tiger Stripe, or non USGI fatigues.
Our members are able to help new members find the correct fatigues, ensure that they are the proper color, weather them (if applicable), and find the proper insignia and uniform devices to wear.
Required Equipment
We do not require any equipment to get started in our organization, but are able to assist members in finding the proper gear for their impression.
Weaponry
We are not specifically a blank-firing unit or an airsoft unit, but rather encourage members to choose weaponry based on what events they wish to attend if they are not able to do both. A weapon is not required to join our organization initially but we do encourage you to prioritize one as a piece of your impression.
